Brief description Two separate interviews. (1) Describes early life in St Ann's Parish, Jamaica. Recalls his school days including casual work on his parent’s rented land growing and selling fruit and vegetables. Talks about his arrival in Britain in 1955 and living in Birmingham with family. Describes his National Service and various jobs for local companies and businesses which included Wilcon, Airflow Streamlines and the boot and shoe industry. Gives an account of his dedication and involvement in setting up organisations to meet the needs of the Black communities in Northampton. Discusses marriage, moving to Northampton and becoming a magistrate through his participation in the Labour Party. (2) Recalls details of setting up the United Social Club. Gives an account of his involvement in setting up Northampton African Caribbean Organisation (NACO), African Caribbean Elders Society (ACES). Talks about concerns for future generations.
