The first community learning project of the Shaping the Future project uses food as a stimulus to explore heritage and cultural diversity.

Working with groups across the county, Food Through the Generations, will see participants examine a variety of culturally diverse foods. Participants will be encouraged to interview one another about food traditions and look at the significance of some foods within different cultures. A look at trade routes in and out of Britain will also be researched.

At the end of the project a cookbook will be produced containing the recipes collected and the stories and traditions behind them.

Two further community learning projects will be developed during the course of the Shaping the Future project.
